Workshops & Events 2010 *Note: All Workshops are Non-Refundable Special Pranayama Workshop Power Vinyasa Roslindale Yoga is now offering Pretzel Kids® Yoga Classes YOGA FOR BEGINNERS with Jean In a safe and nurturing atmosphere, this six-week series will teach the beginning student the foundations of yoga. Starting with standing and seated poses, the body will also be prepared for inversions and mild backbends. Moving at each student's individual pace, a better understanding of body alignment and balance will be gained. Students will experience greater sensitivity and freedom in the body. Baby and Me with Randi Babies can be from 1 month to 1 year old and can come with a mother, father, nanny, other! Twins are also welcome! This nurturing yoga class is specially designed to provide a supportive environment in which to enjoy bonding with and getting to know your growing baby. We will share beneficial yoga poses that are suitable for any level of previous yoga experience that incorporate strengthening postures for postnatal recovery with playful interaction with your infant. (C-section modifications can be offered if necessary.) Infant Massage and postures that reduce colic are taught. Nursing or bottle feeding during class is welcome. Joos Cleanse We are pleased to be sponsoring a JOOS cleanse at our studio. You can find information about the cleanse on www.drinkjoos.com. When people hear cleanse, they immediately think of a colon and elimination.....this isn't that kind of a cleanse. Its a whole-body, cellular cleanse. It "wrings" the toxins out of your fat cells where they are stored. While your body is being cleaned, you are losing weight, gaining energy, alkalining your body, and re-booting your metabolism. Its all done naturally with vegetables. That's the beauty of it. The basic premise is to drink two JOOSes a day loaded with the highest quality fruits and veggies and one meal that can be cooked. It seems overwhelming and intimidating, but the anxiety of doing it is much more difficult than actually doing it. You will eat no dairy, wheat, processed or refined food, sugar, or artificial sweeteners (which are processed and refined), no animal protein. If you do have a craving for animal protein, make it the exception. If you go out and have a drink, make this the exception, too, and go back to the cleanse the next day. Roslindale Yoga Usui Reiki I Attunement with Heather Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is a gentle, Japanese technique of hands-on natural healing. The term translates into "universal life energy". With a practitioner serving as a channel between the spiritual energy and the client's personal energy, Reiki seeks to balance the body, mind, emotions and spirit through the chakra system (a group of energy center's in the body). Your Reiki I Attunement will consist of the history of reiki, full information on the Chakra system, and a guided meditation. After the information session, you will receive your attunement, which will be followed by a break for tea & light lunch, discussion, or time to relax. When we have regained our energy, we will come together to give and receive Reiki energy from eachother. We will end the session after everyone has had a chance to give and receive the healing of reiki. Reiki is not a religion, and you do not need to have any specific beliefs for Reiki to work.
